The union between Triple H and Stephanie McMahon began as a marriage made in hell, eventually spawning the McMahon-Helmsley Era and a faction comprising some of sports-entertainment’s most powerful Superstars. Though the two were married earlier, they began working together in earnest at Armageddon 1999, when Stephanie turned her back on her father, Mr. McMahon and joined with her husband in WWE.com’s No. 5 Hardest Hitting Betrayal.

Less than a month beforehand, the Chairman’s daughter was prepared to marry Test on Raw, but Triple H interrupted the ceremony to show a video of him and a drugged Stephanie McMahon getting married in Las Vegas. Mr. McMahon’s desire to put an end to this unholy union led him to take part in a brutal No Holds Barred Match against Triple H at Armageddon, where by winning, the marriage between his daughter and The Game would be annulled.

Fighting against the odds, and refusing to stay down, McMahon’s battle with his son-in-law raged throughout the arena, even making its way out to the parking lot, where the sadistic Cerebral Assassin attempted to smash a speeding car into his bride’s father. After beating the WWE Chairman to the ground for what felt like the hundredth time, The Game took hold of the microphone and addressed Stephanie, seated at ringside.

-- Triple H appeared on The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet on Friday morning promoting SmackDown's arrival on myNetworkTV. During the show, Triple H took on host Juliet Huddy in a thumb wrestling match. You can see video of the match at www.mandjshow.com.

I love the stylistic differences In this match. Triple H with his power game and Hardy with his high-flying acrobatics will be a setting for the perfect match for the fans. This match will have a little bit of everything, big moves, crazy aerial assaults and other things have yet to be soon. I would love to see Jeff Hardy as champion, but I don't think Triple H's time is up quite yet. He's going to catch the youngster and finish him with a 1-2-3, but not before he's pushed to his limits.

• Power 25 for October 4th

This week Triple H stays at the #1 position of the Power 25.

The Game is No. 1 via unanimous decision after defeating World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho and ECW Champion Matt Hardy on SmackDown just days before his title match at No Mercy.

WWE Champion Triple H def. ECW Champion Matt Hardy and World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho. Jeff Hardy and Vladimir Kozlov involved after the match.

Triple H proved victorious in the Champions vs. Champions Triple Threat Match, hitting the Pedigree on Matt Hardy as he was closing the door on Chris Jericho. But when Jericho attacked Hardy after the match, Matt’s brother Jeff Hardy came to his aid, staying long enough to hit the Twist of Fate on The Game. As Jeff prepared to go airborne from the familiar ladder, however, Vladimir Kozlov came from nowhere to delivered a vicious mid-flight head butt before laying waste to both him and The King of Kings.
