WWE Champion John Cena & World Heavyweight Champion The Undertaker def. Triple H & Shawn Michaels and Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Big Show in a Non-Title Match

Madison Square Garden has been witness to some of WWE’s most amazing Superstars throughout its storied history: Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant and Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka to name but a few. Rare, nonetheless, seems the time when such legends converge at once. That was inarguably the case, however, as WWE Champion John Cena teamed with World Heavyweight Champion The Undertaker against Triple H & Shawn Michaels and Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Big Show in a Triple Threat Tag Team Match.

Looming large in the subtext was Survivor Series, during which The Champ will face The Game and HBK in a Triple Threat Match while The Phenom must battle Jericho and Show in a three-man affair. Tonight, though, all six Superstars would compete in one colossal clash.

In the end, the two World Champions would prevail when Cena secured the victory for his team. As if to let the WWE Universe know that he needs no assistance, The Deadman suddenly turned on his partner and Tombstoned Cena, leaving the WWE Champion razed and confused.

DX def. Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Big Show in a Non-Title Match

Two weeks before Survivor Series, Triple H & Shawn Michaels offered WWE Champion John Cena a preview of what awaits him in that trio’s Triple Threat Match. The DX duo faced down Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Big Show, who themselves will combat World Heavyweight Champion Undertaker in their own battle of three.

With The Champ looking on from the announcer’s table, the teams punished one another until The World’s Largest Athlete attempted to seal Michaels’ fate. As HBK fended off an attack from Jericho, Show illegally charged him. When Show attempted to land a knock out punch on Michaels, though, he accidentally connected with his partner, allowing HBK to score the pin.

While the turn of events was unforeseen, the biggest surprise came after the match. The WWE Champion revealed that next week’s Raw will include a Triple Threat Tag Team Match involving three teams: DX, Jeri-Show and … John Cena & The Undertaker! Each of the teams appeared as stunned as the WWE Universe as the World Heavyweight Champion slowly and deliberately walked down the entrance ramp, eyeing his opponents.

Chris Jericho def. WWE Champion John Cena and Big Show in a Non-title Triple Threat Match
At Survivor Series, WWE Champion John Cena will face down Triple H and Shawn Michaels in a Triple Threat Match. That same evening, Big Show and Chris Jericho will battle each other and The Undertaker in their own three-way encounter. Tonight, however, Cena, Show and Jericho were compelled to clash with one another in a Triple Threat Match that would put alliances to the test.

Consider that test aced. The Unified Tag Team Champions not only bested Cena when Jericho scored the pin, the two worked in tandem to punish The Champ when he was down. When DX, who had been sitting ringside to observe, charged the ring to mount a defense, Show & Jericho also managed to pummel them, leaving Triple H, HBK and Cena woozy on the canvas as the Unified Tag Team Champions beamed down at their handy work.

This week Triple H moves down to the #2 position of the Power 25.

As co-captains of Team Raw, DX fell victim to Big Show's betrayal. However, not all is bad, we think, because both men will face Cena for the gold at Survivor Series.
